Once seen mainly as a holiday destination, it has become a fully functional city to live in, offering strong infrastructure, universities, public transport and a year-round rental market. Why Alicante attracts buyers all year round?
Alicante is a complete city: it has an international airport, a port, trams, universities, hospitals and a real job market. Importantly, the demand for housing does not end with the summer season. On the contrary, long-term and medium-term rentals are gaining in importance, as are purchases for personal housing needs.
New developments in Alicante are increasingly designed not for tourists, but for everyday life.
The choice of property should not be based solely on the asking price or distance from the beach. In practice, it is the functional location that has the greatest impact on the comfort of living and the stability of property values in the long term. It is worth paying attention to public transport, access to schools, healthcare and everyday services. Neighbourhoods with good transport links to the city centre and the university are much better suited to long-term rentals and are less susceptible to seasonality than strictly holiday locations.
The stage of the investment and the construction schedule are also important. Projects with a later completion date often offer better entry prices, but require patience and a long-term approach. On the other hand, investments at a more advanced stage reduce the time risk, although they usually involve a higher purchase price.
The layout of a particular flat, its orientation, floor and the actual surroundings of the building are also important. Within the same investment, the differences between flats can be greater than between the projects themselves. Villafranqueza: a quiet alternative to the city centre
